Annual Retreat
Why Attend a Retreat?
ICHM fosters a Health and Healing ministry. Participation in an annual retreat makes space for individuals involved in congregations, health committees and parish nursing roles to allow time for spiritual renewal and transformation.
Each retreat centre is chosen for its natural beauty, conducive to focusing on a quiet, reflective interlude. This weekend provides time to learn about quiet prayer and understanding what God is doing when “nothing” is happening.
This is a time for natural bonding to others experiencing this time for communal education and discernment. It is open to all who desire to nurture a deeper spirituality leading to inner freedom and openness.
Our 2017 retreat will take place between Friday, March 3rd and Sunday March 5th.

The location of our 2017 Spiritual Retreat is Ganaraska Woods, “a retreat centre nestled in 100 acres of wooded land through which runs the Ganaraska River.” The theme of this year’s retreat is Prayer Changes Us: Surviving and Thriving in a Changing Church. Weather permitting, there will be trekking, ice skating and cross-country skiing. Must bring your own equipment. There will be a pajama party on Saturday evening so bring your pj’s.
We will sleep over Friday and Saturday nights and head out after lunch on Sunday afternoon. Friday supper is not included, so please make sure to have dinner beforehand or bring some snacks with you.
