Parish Nurse Job Postings
Pickering Village United Church (PVUC) in Ajax, Ontario is seeking a Parish Nurse to replace the retiring incumbent. This is a paid part-time position, with a rolling average of 10 hours per week. Qualifications include Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse, Member of RNAO (preferred), Diploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, current BCLS certification and successful completion of or willingness to complete the InterChurch Health Ministries Canada Parish Nursing Education Program.
As a member of the church ministry team, the successful candidate will provide health education and counseling to members of the congregation and community and more specifically, work as a staff member of the Pastoral Care team, linking health care with the spiritual care and outreach of PVUC. Facilitating effective communication with the congregation, other team members, volunteers and the Inter-Church Health Ministries is essential. As a member of the PVUC Health Cabinet, the Parish Nurse will contribute to the planning of educational events such as health fairs, worship service announcements, newsletter articles, blood pressure clinics, group presentations and the ongoing success of the Parish Nursing program.
