InterChurch Health Ministries of Saskatchewan (ICHM-SK) Regional Parish Nurse Coordinator

InterChurch Health Ministries of Saskatchewan is a registered charitable non-profit corporation that supports congregations, parishes and agencies in the development of health and healing ministries facilitated by Parish Nurses. We are looking for a Regional Parish Nurse Coordinator who is motivated, organized and efficient, whose responsibility will be to relate to our current congregation/agency partners, and to provide support guidance and evaluation for parish nurse candidates and for parish nurses in partnership congregations/agencies. The role includes providing leadership, consultation and assistance annually in the development of our parish nursing education programs, and monitoring the progress of parish nurse candidates as they complete their practicum. This is a paid part-time position, with an average of 12 hours per month (September 1 to June 30). To qualify a candidate must be a Registered Nurse who has completed the ICHM three-year Education Program (or equivalent) in Parish Nursing, and must have at least one year of experience as a Parish Nurse. The successful candidate will work closely with the ICHM-SK Board of Directors, the Education Committee, and the ICHMSK Regional Director.

Pickering Village United Church (PVUC) in Ajax, Ontario is seeking a Parish Nurse to replace the retiring incumbent.  This is a paid part-time position, with a rolling average of 10 hours per week.  Qualifications include Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse, Member of RNAO (preferred), Diploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, current BCLS certification and successful completion of or willingness to complete the InterChurch Health Ministries Canada Parish Nursing Education Program.

As a member of the church ministry team, the successful candidate will provide health education and counseling to members of the congregation and community and more specifically, work as a staff member of the Pastoral Care team, linking health care with the spiritual care and outreach of PVUC.  Facilitating effective communication with the congregation, other team members, volunteers and the Inter-Church Health Ministries is essential.  As a member of the PVUC Health Cabinet, the Parish Nurse will contribute to the planning of educational events such as health fairs, worship service announcements, newsletter articles, blood pressure clinics, group presentations and the ongoing success of the Parish Nursing program.
