Guiding Principles and Role
InterChurch Health Ministries Canada (ICHM Canada) is a non-profit organization consisting of congregations and parishes, community groups, agencies and individuals working together to promote an understanding of the relationship between faith and health among their members and the wider community.

INTERCHURCH HEALTH MINISTRIES CANADA BELIEVES THE HEALING MISSION AND MINISTRY OF THE CHURCH IS BEST DONE:
In Partnership - that we are better and stronger together than we are individually and that we mutually benefit from each other’s strengths.
By providing nurture and support to Parish Nursing and health ministries in congregations and communities.
On an Inter Church basis by sharing the unique gifts and resources of all, we are enriched and enabled by our various Christian traditions in our experience and performance of ministry.
THE ROLE OF INTERCHURCH HEALTH MINISTRIES CANADA
To promote a new vision of healing and health by recognizing that the spiritual component plays an integral role in health and well being through initiating health ministries in congregations.
To promote understanding and cooperation for healing and health ministries in congregations by partnering with congregations and community groups to establish Parish Nursing Ministries through providing consultation, education, networking and the resources to support these partnerships.
To play a leadership role with partners in developing Health Ministries
by providing the following: information forums, educational programs, resource
material, consultation and support.
